Dance Competition

Lauren Danced to "I Dream of Jeanie"

Emma danced to Hannah Montana's "Best of Both Worlds"

On Saturday we spent the afternoon at Taylorsville High for the girls dance competition. Emma danced at 4:45 and Lauren didn't dance till 8:00, so we had some time to kill. We went over to Gardner Village for dinner at Archibald's. We had to make a stop at the candy shop too, you can't visit Gardners Village without a stop there. Then we went back to the High School for Lauren to perform. They both did amazing! Emma's team got a second place. And Laurens team got a first place. Scott stayed home with Jack for obvious reasons, but me and the girls had a great girls day!

Spring football

We spent a beautiful spring day on Saturday at the U of U spring red and white game. Scott got in his football rush, and we got to sit outside, front row, on a beautiful day, and have yummy stadium hot dogs, and churro's! Go Utes!

Quick trip to St. George

So Scott and I had the opportunity to go to St. George last week for a couple of days. Scott went down for a convention for the City, and I got to tag along for some R&R (shopping mostly) but I did get my toenails and fingernails painted on the trip! I told Scott that I wanted to take some pictures of us because we don't do that much anymore. Well these are the only 2 pictures I took. This was at a little Cafe in Delta. We had a yummy greasy spoon lunch, and hot Scones with honey and butter. St. George was a little cold and I didn't get to sit by the pool as planned, but it was a wonderfull 3 days with Scottie. Thanks to the Wells family for taking the kido's. We couldn't have done it without you. Oh and we will forgive you for Bob the fish dying while in your care!! (or thank you- no more smelly fish bowl)

Happy 7th Birthday Lauren

Miss Lauren turned 7 on Monday. All she wanted from us was a Nintendo DS. The girl has wanted one for over a year. I keep thinking it was just something that she wanted because a couple of her friends have one, and that it would blow over...but it never did. After Santa disappointed her for the second year in a row, mom suggested that her birthday was just a few short months away and maybe she could get one then. So... she got one, and a Build A Bear game she wanted. Hooray! She got some other cool gifts that she asked Grandma and Grandpa for when she was told that if she wanted a DS that is probably all she would get. I guess that's what Grandma's are for, to save the day! She got some cool Roller skates, and Littlest Pet shop toys. She also got a Nail studio thing that she saw on T.V. She got some cash from Grandma Gwen and Grandpa Clare, and Great Grandma Slaughter, and a Wal-mart gift card from Grandma Julie and Grandpa Richard. It is just burning a hole in her pocket! She asks me everyday how much she has, and what could she buy with it?? She opened her presents from my parents on Easter, and we had a fun trip to Chuck-E-Cheese on her big day. She brought one of her best friends Brinley Wells. The only problem was they found a game that robbed them of all there tokens (25 a piece) in a matter of minuets for the sake of winning tickets. When Lauren and Emma learned that all there 200 tickets would buy was a Laffy Taffy (trick or treat size) or other random junk, They had a melt down. The Prize she wanted was 1000 tickets. I tried to tell her we could go to the dollar store and buy one, but she felt the need to win it. Oh well Jack had a ball, played dozens of games and could care less about his ticket winnings! You might have noticed Lauren's brace on her hand. On Saturday we were in Salt Lake for Our Nephew Spencer's baptism and we stoped at Target while in the big city, and Lauren slammed her Thumb in the car door.We ran to Insta Care, they did an X ray and told us it wasn't broken. She felt much better when they told her she would have to sport a brace for several days! A cool cast makes it all better I guess!

Happy Easter

This year we hosted the annual Easter festivities. My Parents and sister Taylor came and brought my Grandma Slaughter with them. My brother Todd, sister in law Christina and Spencer and Miriam. Grandma (my mom) always does a big Easter Egg hunt for the grand kids. They love it and look forward to it every year. Mom is so organized, and wants everyone to get equal prizes, so she did 22 eggs and misc. treats and treasures for each child. She color codes them all with stickers and by egg color. She always provides something cute to put there loot in too. They had a fabulous time hunting in the yard this year. Thanks mom for all your thought fullness and time for this most anticipated tradition! After the hunt we had a yummy Easter dinner complete with Ham, Potato salad, fruit and dip, asparagus ( I personally love it, and some years Easter is the only time I get to eat it)chips, rolls, and strawberry shortcake with from scratch angle food cake I made last night for the fist time, and was sure I had ruined, but it was actually very delicious! I Love Easter. I love the fun spring dresses, weather, candy, food, family, flowers and blosooms. I love the Savior and why we celebrate. What a great day it has been.

Easter Egg Bonanza

Always a crack up Jack!

Lauren taking inventory

Emma's a professional

Jack made a dozen in minuets

Love our kid-o's
Thanks for the groovy title Emma! Tonight we did our egg dying. In the past we have waited until the night before Easter, and it seems to get lost in the hustle and bustle of the last minuet. So this year we did it a bit earlier, not to mention we have our nephew and cousin Spencer being baptized on Saturday, and we are hosting the dinner and festivities at our house on Easter Sunday. It would have definitely gotten lost this year. The kids had a great time, and I just love Jacks "EGG EYES"!

West Elementary's Got Talent

Emma along with her friends Kensey, and Brylie did a dance they have been learning together in dance class. They had to try out, and they made it! Emma was so excited. They had several practices outside of dance class to get it just right. They even had to alter the dance just a Little to make it work for 3 girls, instead of for a whole class. They did such a great job! I don't know if I would have had the courage at their age to dance in front of all my friends, but they did it and what a fabulous job! Way to go girls!
