Christmas Day

It's finally here, the day everyone has been waiting for....It's Christmas! It's so fun to have little kids at Christmas, new bikes, dolls, train sets, Zhu Zhu pets (those crazy things). Excitment overflowing, I remember feeling that way. As you get older and remember back, nothing really comes close to the anticipation and joy of Christmas morning. I hope that our kids will have great memories when they look back at Christmas' past. The time spent with family, traditions, and the joy that Christmas brings. We had a wonderfull day with our families. More delicious food, laughter, and memories made.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve began with a visit to the Dr.'s office. Jackson was not feeling well, and with tomorrow being the big day we thought we better get him in. Strep throat....ugggg! We have had issues in the past with sickness, E.R. and Dr.'s visits on Christmas day. I quess this year we got lucky and got it on Christmas Eve instead (if you can call that lucky). Anyway with antibiotics and Advil we headed out for our day of festivities(and food)! First stop Nanna and Poppa's. Scott's Dad and Gwen had us over for yummy food and exchanging gifts. We had a delicious brownie trifle, and I got my very own trifle bowl and fixins to make my own...yummm! Then it was off to my family's at Grandma and Grandpa's house. This year was great because our whole family was together. Todd, Chad, Me, Jared and Taylor, and of course Mom and Dad. We had a delicious Christmas Eve dinner. After we gave mom her birthday presents. Her birthday was the day before on the 23rd, but we couldn't make it in because of weather. Mom is Moochie. I think Scott named her that years ago. My kids last year had to ask "what is Grandma's real name?" We found her a beautiful(not) T-shirt we had to get her from a sandwich shop in Salt Lake called "Moochies". Don't worry we got her a real present too! The kids had fun with their cousins in their new Christmas jammies, scouting out all their presents under the tree. Jack as always enjoyed playing pool(or just rolling balls across the table) with Grandpa.

Not just a trim

Lauren has been asking for months if she could have short hair. I have been so reluctant because I just love her long hair. But I realized that it's not just about what I like and want, that if she really wants short hair, she should be able to. This is hard for me sometimes, but I'm trying to be better. So we made an appointment, and the only time she could do it was on Christmas Eve. So we went in the morning before the festivities began and got a new do. I think she looks darling! I quess that my little Lauren knows what she is doing!

Dinner, Lights, and a Movie

The weekend before Christmas we decided to take the kids into Salt lake to go and see The Princess and the Frog. Scott and Jack took a nap through the middle of it, they misse out, it was a darling movie. Afterwards we rode Tracks down to temple Square. It probably would have been faster to just walk down (from the Gateway) but Jack loves the train. It was FREEZING cold as you can see from all our red noses, but it was beautiful. We were all hungry, so we went out to dinner at Bucca De Peppa. We had Spagetti and Italian sausage, Yummm! It turned out to be a really fun day.

Annual WWF "Wardle, Wardle, Furness" Christmas party

Every year we get together for our annual WWF Christmas party. We really look forward to this because we don't get to see our friends as often as we wish we could. If you remember we got together for Memorial weekend, and we saw each other this summer when Isaac and Sandra baptized their son Mitchell. Usually we get together 3 or 4 times a year, and it is always a party! This year we just did a simple menu of Soup and Salad. Sandra made some yummy homemade apple pie for desert. The grown ups played a game of Phase 10. This game really takes us back to the first time we hung out with Rob and Tracy. We sat in our little "South Willow" apt. in West Jordan and played. I remember in newly wed fashion Rob and Tracy were sooo Cheezy! I loved it! Just a little less Cheezy but still fun to play a game of Phase 10 with. The boys stood in the snow for their annual contest. Rob always wins, and I think Isaac just wishes that we would forget every year (the look on his face is appropriate). The contest usually lasts long enough for the girls to get a quick picture, and they are done. Another great year with good friends. Love you guys!

Visit with Santa tradition

The kids Love to go to the South Towne Mall with their Grandma and cousins, Spencer and Miriam to visit Santa Clause. Friday after School we met them at the mall for our tradition. The line for Santa was a little long (he needed to go on a break I guess), but we made it. You will notice that there is no picture of the kids with Santa. That is because the sign said no outside photography. So I didn't take any, although many others did...arggg! The pictures they took didn't turn out great, and so we saved our $25... a little pricey I think! After we ate at the food court. The kids all love to pick their favorite. Emma Subway, Lauren Pizza, and Jack Panda Express. They all took a ride on the Merry Go Round, and then we went back to Grandma and Grandpa's to watch A Christmas Story. I love traditions!
