Salon a la Courtney

Last night was my sister Taylor's Prom. She wanted me to come out and do her hair, in an updo. I wasn't quite sure how to get it up and stay up without using a hair claw (not very formal). So I did some reserch (you tube), and figured something out. I think for my first go it turned out pretty good! She looked gorgeous, oh to be 17 again.

Happy Bithday Scooter!

It's been birthday week at our house. Scott turned 39 on Wednesday. I was kind of hard to do something special on a weekday with work and school, so I made homemade spaghetti sauce (he loves spaghetti, its his favorite)and we had a nice dinner at home. We did a little scavenger hunt for him to find his presents and then we went to the Tooele High production of Beauty and the Beast. It was a fun night.

Turn your back for one minuet....

This is what happens when you go upstairs to blow dry your hair and leave your 3 year old alone in the kitchen with day old birthday cupcakes. WARNING!!! I didn't take pictures of the kitchen...it resembled really bad road kill with that RED frosting.

Jack's 3

Our baby is 3 now. So many people have told me "oh 3 is way harder than 2 is". Jack is so full of spunk and energy that I can't imagine 3 being more crazy than 2 was. Don't get me wrong, Jack makes me laugh just about everyday with his bright personality, and excitement for life, and all the things in it. But along with that there were plenty of tears of frustration, and exhaust trying to either catch him so he didn't get run over, or chase him through the halls of the church, or anywhere else we might be that running isn't appropriate. Jack is "My Sunshine Boy" as I call him, and he brings so much life to our lives. We love him. His birthday started out with a wonderful present from his sister Emma. She bought him a book at the school book fair. She read it to him several times before breakfast. We had a normal morning... trip to the gym, morning clean up around the house. Then we went to Wal-Mart to pick out a toy with the gift card his grandparents had given him. He choose a remote control car. We then had Grandma and Grandpa Ahlstrom, and the Crane family over for chicken noodle soup and cake and ice cream. Oh and presents of course! Jack loved all of his gifts. He is so animated and expressive, I just love to see how excited he gets over everything. We had a wonderful evening celebrating Jack.
