Staycation

We had a little "Staycation" with the family. A friend of mine told me about these awesome passes called the Salt Lake City connect Pass. With the purchase of the pass you get into several different activities in the valley. I checked them out online, and decided that this would be a great way to finish up some things we have been wanting to do this summer. We began Thursday morning at the Clark Planetarium. We saw a 3D IMAX movie on bugs. It was very cool, but Jack was very sad that in the end the butterfly got eaten by the Preying Mantis. He keep saying during the day "I'm still sad about the butterfly". We saw another star show and then we were off to the Lion House for a Yummy lunch. We headed up to the Hogal Zoo and we hadn't been there since Jack was 3 months old. We decided to squeeze in one more activity and went to Snowbird for a tram ride. Other than Scott and his fear of heights, we all loved it! We ate a pizza dinner at the top of the mountain. Scott was happy to return to the lodge. I was able to get us a cheap hotel for the night so we stayed at the Best Western in Midvale. It wasn't the "BEST" but the kids thought so, and that's all that mattered! We headed to the Aquarium first thing in the morning and saw all sorts of amazing creatures. We even got to touch a Sting Ray! So cool! Our last stop was to the Dino Museum at Thanksgiving Point. Where we explored and played in the sand, and water. We probably could have hit one more venue but we called it a day after lunch at Chuck A Rama and crashed for a nap at Grandma's. We had a ball. We saw, we learned, we played, and did things that were new and exciting all in the comforts of the Salt Lake valley.
