Staycation
We had a little "Staycation" with the family. A friend of mine told me about these awesome passes called the Salt Lake City connect Pass. With the purchase of the pass you get into several different activities in the valley. I checked them out online, and decided that this would be a great way to finish up some things we have been wanting to do this summer. We began Thursday morning at the Clark Planetarium. We saw a 3D IMAX movie on bugs. It was very cool, but Jack was very sad that in the end the butterfly got eaten by the Preying Mantis. He keep saying during the day "I'm still sad about the butterfly". We saw another star show and then we were off to the Lion House for a Yummy lunch. We headed up to the Hogal Zoo and we hadn't been there since Jack was 3 months old. We decided to squeeze in one more activity and went to Snowbird for a tram ride. Other than Scott and his fear of heights, we all loved it! We ate a pizza dinner at the top of the mountain. Scott was happy to return to the lodge. I was able to get us a cheap hotel for the night so we stayed at the Best Western in Midvale. It wasn't the "BEST" but the kids thought so, and that's all that mattered! We headed to the Aquarium first thing in the morning and saw all sorts of amazing creatures. We even got to touch a Sting Ray! So cool! Our last stop was to the Dino Museum at Thanksgiving Point. Where we explored and played in the sand, and water. We probably could have hit one more venue but we called it a day after lunch at Chuck A Rama and crashed for a nap at Grandma's. We had a ball. We saw, we learned, we played, and did things that were new and exciting all in the comforts of the Salt Lake valley.

Yuba Lake
This was our awesome trip to Yuba Lake. My parents have a couple of wave runners, and we love when we get to take them to the Lake for a day of fun in the sun. It was a great day, very HOT, but the water was nice and cool. It was a bit breezy out, so we didn't get to water ski. We had plenty of fun bouncing around on the tube though! My brother Todd and I tried Knee boarding for the first time, and it was a bit tricky ( Todd lost his suit...good thing he was prepared with his spandex underneath) but exciting to try. We had a minor complication while knee boarding. The rope got caught up in the runner and we had to get towed to shore. After a stroll down the beach to look for someone with a tool box, we were back in business! The kids had a ball playing on the beach and being with their cousins. I love days like this one, Family, fun, and sun!

We had a fun filled 4th of July weekend! Our festivities began at our house on Friday afternoon. We had Grandma and Grandpa and my sister come out with my brother and His family. The kids spent the afternoon together doing smoke bombs, snakes,(mainly daytime stuff). We had a BBQ, and a movie in the backyard (Nacho Libre, one of our favorites). We all slept in the backyard, except for me I can't seem to sleep out doors. so I went in at 3:00am and got 2 hours of sleep inside. We had a Yummy breakfast, and then went to the parade. We got to Ride with Scotty in a Truck and the kids all threw candy. We went over to the city park for the festivities there. After it was off to Grandmas house for some delicious ribs and more fireworks. We all had a great time!
